The Patriots launched beginning left guard Michael Jordan on Tuesday.
Head coach Jerod Mayo hinted that lineup modifications could be coming this week, and Jordan, who’s began 11 video games by way of 12 weeks together with Sunday’s 34-15 loss to the Dolphins, is out.
To take his place on the 53-man roster, the Patriots claimed guard Lester Cotton off waivers from the Dolphins.
Cotton, 28, has appeared in 32 profession video games with 9 begins. He began his profession with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama in 2019. He’s been with the Dolphins since 2022.
Jordan ranks seventy fifth out of 82 certified guards with a 51.5 general PFF grade this season. He’s allowed three sacks and 23 complete pressures. He now should go by way of waivers because it’s after the NFL commerce deadline.
Cotton has performed simply 61 snaps this season, incomes a 67.0 PFF grade. He began at left guard and proper guard final season for the Dolphins.
With Jordan off the roster, the Patriots have 5 prospects to begin at left guard in Week 13 in opposition to the Colts: Sidy Sow, Cole Unusual, Tyrese Robinson, rookie Layden Robinson and Cotton.
Layden Robinson, who has been noticed taking reps at left guard in apply, has began six video games this season.
