LAWRENCE, MASS. (WHDH) – Greater than 30 individuals are with no place to reside after a fast-moving hearth destroyed a multi-family house in Lawrence on Saturday, officers stated.
Crews responding to a reported construction hearth on Lea Avenue round 1 p.m. shortly struck three alarms and started combating the hearth with ladder vehicles, in line with the Lawrence Fireplace Division.
After an intensive battle, the constructing, which is owned by State Rep. Estela Reyes, was deemed a complete loss and should be torn down, leaving 36 individuals displaced.
“We’re working to allocate all of the households that had been residing on the property,” she stated.
Lawrence Mayor Brian DePena additionally got here to the scene, saying he would do all the pieces he might to assist the households impacted by the blaze.
